Powell, Parties and Home Improvement

We sure have been busy! In addition to putting some more finishing touches on the house I went back to work teaching first grade at Walker Butte Elementary and have taken on party planning. This weekend was my mother-in-law's 50th birthday so we threw her a surprise party at the house. It was a very eventful party and she was truly surprised. We enjoyed hosting our first party at our new home.






We also recently took a weekend trip to Lake Powell with my family, grandparents and our family friends the Brooks'. Even though it was a short trip it was well worth it especially because we haven't seen the Brooks' since the wedding! We got to boat, wakeboard, tube and just hang out and have fun. Edison had a great time swimming and getting more attention than he knew what to do with. He was so good. He also handled the 5 hour drive like a champ!






And as promised I have included a few pictures of the home renovations. Doug has really out done himself on the backyard and cabinets. He finished the backyard with a new grill which he is thrilled about. He also was able to finish some of the cabinets before the party. Doug will have to take a little break from home improvements due to an upcoming surgery this weekend to repair a hernia. He is quite the trooper. He is having surgery on Friday and will be back to work Monday. I think he is crazy!
